This location has been used for centuries for religious meetings and church services.  Dating back to the late 1700's this location was used as a campground due to it being on a stagecoach road and having a spring on site.  Families would camp on the site and preaching services were held two or three times a day.  Sometimes campers would stay up to a month.  The first church building was built in 1851.  In 1910 it was replaced with the sanctuary that is present today.
